Mariana Stoopen Graphic designer for the Anaheim Ducks and Honda Center Anaheim
Q: What was your big breakthrough? A: When I got promoted from junior to senior designer with the Anaheim Ducks/Honda Center – it became a completely new set of responsibilities that I was thrilled to accept.
Q: What was your biggest failure? A: Anytime I keep my mouth shut for fear of what others would say about my ideas. You just can't succeed by doing that.
Q: What's the most rewarding aspect of being a designer? A: Knowing that people all over the world get a chance to see your artwork – it's amazing to know how excited people get when they find out that you designed the Anaheim Ducks season tickets or a logo for a charity event.
Q: Who or what inspires you? A: Looking through design magazines or checking out some designers' website are great avenues to get inspiration.
Q: What is your biggest goal or dream for the future? A: To have a shop where I can sell jewelry that I have designed and made my hand.
Q: What one piece of advice would you offer aspiring designers? A: Drown yourself in creativity and inspiration. And don't take yourself too seriously. If you can't have fun at your job, then something needs to change.
