  • Host, nationally syndicated “The Hugh Hewitt Show”; Partner, Hewitt Wolensky LLP
    Age: 53
Fact: He’s a season-ticket holder of the Cleveland Browns.
His philosophy: “It’s much better to have the facts than to indulge in rosy scenarios.”

While practicing law in 1990, Hugh Hewitt got a call from KFI-AM 640 to do a Saturday morning show. He never dreamed it would be the start of a second career. But a few years later, Hewitt moved to the nightly news and public affairs show “Life & Times,” and 10 years later, he launched his own nationally syndicated show.

“I had never even thought five minutes about a career of any sort in broadcasting,” he says.

Syndicated by the Salem Radio Network, “The Hugh Hewitt Show” can be heard on more than 120 stations. He covers law, government, politics, media and even entertainment.

Hewitt is a partner at the law firm Hewitt Wolensky LLP and also teaches constitutional law at Chapman University. He has authored 13 books. His 14th, “The Good and Faithful Servant,” will be available this month.

He’s still a lawyer at heart.

“I have been helping land-owners for two decades get their projects built. This involves smart people and depends on persuasive arguments,” he says. “What’s not to love about such a profession?”
