Gary Brahm

Grand hobby: Brahm and his wife have hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon numerous times, including a number of cross-canyon hikes and descents through the snow.
A job highlight: “Graduation for non-traditional students is an especially significant day. It is an honor and a privilege to stand at the podium and be the first to shake their hands and congratulate them.”
As chancellor of a university that focuses on adult learning, Gary Brahm oversees 25 campuses, 3,000 faculty and staff, and an annual budget of $80 million. Since its renaming and separation to become the first member of the Chapman University System, he’s led the college’s mission to become the leader in the evolution of adult learning. Brahm has guided the launch of a School of Nursing and Health Professions, offering Orange County’s first accredited Doctor of Nursing Practice program; a masters in Public Administration; and a BBA/MBA program with a focus on sustainability – something Brahm is passionate about. He often rides his bike to work and was selected as one of the first 20 people to get Honda’s hydrogen-powered Clarity. He’s also served as chairman on the board of the Jewish Community Foundation of Orange County and is a member of the Merage Jewish Community Center of Orange County.
