Two Orange County mothers, friends and political opposites, Michelle Tingler and Debbie Devine founded O-MAMA.com (Opinionated MAMA) last year as a resource for news and events from a mom’s perspective. Their idea was to bring America’s moms together to get to the heart of the political and social issues of our time, cutting through all the other nonsense – with humor and common sense. They believe that moms possess unique skills honed in motherhood. That gives Opinionated MAMA the credibility to be a constructive – and rational – voice in our country’s most important conversations.
Their website – the antithesis of loud partisan bickering on television – has grown into a nationwide forum for moms to connect the messages from the news and events of the day to the lessons they are teaching kids at home. In just a few short months, O-MAMA.com has broken out among the seemingly endless number of new websites and bloggers. It’s been featured on Oprah Radio’s Dr. Laura Berman Show, and in Redbook, the Chicago Tribune and the Orange County Register. The duo recently inked a deal with Lifetime as members of The Balancing Act Blogger Team, posting weekly columns putting parenting analogies in the context of national issues.
