Tallia Hart

President and CEO, Irvine Chamber of Commerce
Age: 35
Fact: She trained with the U.S. Women’s Gymnastics Team under Bela Karolyi
and won a gold medal at the national level in the uneven bars.
On practicing good business: “If we provide extraordinary service to our members, cultivate a strong local economy and work to enhance the community as a whole, the chamber will flourish, as it has since its inception.”

With Irvine’s thriving technology and pharmaceutical industries, not to mention a world-class university and a top-notch business environment, it’s no wonder that
BusinessWeek named it one of the safest cities in the country to ride out a recession.

There’s no need to tell this to Tallia Hart; she already knows it. She was selected to lead Irvine’s Chamber of Commerce, following former President Jacquie Warren’s retirement, taking the reins over more than 1,000 membership companies and 60,000 member employees.

Hart says the chamber is working to enhance benefits for member businesses, and also is working with the city of Irvine, the Hotel Improvement District and other partners to develop local economic campaigns and stimulate tourism efforts.
