Carol Stogsdill left her position of editor of the OC Edition of the Los Angeles Times to become senior editor and vice president of the Times, shortly after receiving her Hot 25 award.
“There were a lot of interesting stories during that time,” Stogsdill says, including the O.J. Simpson murder trial and the Orange County bankruptcy.
She left Times in 1998 to become a media consultant, advising companies and individuals on the media and media relations.
In 2005, Stogsdill began working at UCLA as senior executive for media relations, where she is involved in strategies and community outreach. “Working with students is one of the joys of the job,” she says. “I can really help educate and steer the institution in a way that leaves me feeling like I’ve helped make the world a better place.”
