Jan Mittermeier came to Orange County’s rescue after its bankruptcy in 1994, after leaving her position at John Wayne Airport. She was successful, raising the County’s investment grade rating from D to AA.
In 2000, she left the County to start her own consulting business until 2004. She then began her work at Cofiroute USA and has been responsible for the company’s operations of the 91 Express Lanes.
Mittermeier holds the position of senior vice president at Cofiroute USA and states that she is “going to stay here.” Throughout her career, she has received many honors for her professional efforts.
She continues to live in Huntington Beach, her home since 1989, with her husband of 50 years, Ron. Her two sons live locally with their families, and she is the proud grandmother of two granddaughters and four grandsons.
