Rudy Castruita
Rudy Castruita has been an influential educator since the 1990s. He served as the superintendent at the Santa Ana Unified School District until 1994, and later became county superintendent of the San Diego Unified School District, where he worked for 12 years.
Castruita appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Education, Margaret Spelling, to serve on the President’s Advisory for Departments of military based schools for overseas.
Although Castruita “retired” two years ago, he serves as chair of Education Administration at the University of Southern California. He has lectured in places such as China and Australia, as well as Cornell, Columbia and Harvard universities.
Castruita lives in San Diego. “I plan on improving my game of golf and spending time with my family,” he says.
