ANDREA ARCIGA

POSITION: Small business owner

ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Serves as president of the National Latina Business Women Association of Orange County (NLBWA-OC) and board member of the Orange County Home Ownership Preservation Collaborative (OCHOPC)

WHAT YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR WORK: I do a few things: First, I own a mortgage and real estate branch. Second, I recently started a credit education and FICO-enhancement company and a small women’s accessory retail line. My accessory company is just being developed, and I am having a great time with it. I buy what I would wear, and so far it’s been good. Lastly, I am the president of NLBWA-OC, I sit on the board of OCHOPC, and I am the assistant secretary with the Orange County Presidents Council. I have a lot of responsibilities that I must juggle in a day, including being a single mother of four wonderful children, aged 17, 15, 8 and 4. I am in a business of helping people and have established great relationships and a deep respect for all those I work with.

PROFESSIONAL PHILOSOPHY: Take chances!

PROUDEST PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT, AND WHY IT STANDS OUT: Getting this award, for sure! Opening my own office would be a close second. No one in my immediate family has ever taken a chance and opened a business before.

ADVICE FOR WOMEN ENTERING THE WORK FORCE: My Four Ps: Be prepared, be professional, stay positive and, most of all, be passionate about your endeavors.

LAST BOOK YOU FINISHED: I listen to Anthony Robbins CDs practically every day.
