POSITION: Spa director, The Resort at Pelican Hill

ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Considered one of the spa industry’s leading executives; known for developing one-of-a-kind treatments that incorporate local produce and wild flora; created a program that goes way behind the traditional menu of spa items, including art classes overlooking Crystal Cove, lectures on plants and edible herbs, and hikes with trained naturalists; lead catalyst in helping the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa achieve a 5 Diamond rating

WHAT YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR WORK: I am fortunate to work in a new and exciting industry where I can build long relationships that span many, many years. Working for The Resort at Pelican Hill allows me the opportunity to work in a customer-centric environment where both guest loyalty and staff culture become the essence of a genuine resort and spa experience. With the exponential growth of spas, the complexity and exposure of the business has allowed me to be consistently challenged with new service expectations.
ADVICE FOR WOMEN ENTERING THE WORK FORCE: My professional advice is to find a healthy blend of creativity and practicality, regularly exercising both sides of the brain. My personal advice is to find true passion in everything that you do and to be loyal and honest to your values.
WHAT DO YOU HAVE A LOT OF? In an ever-changing world, I find that passion and focus are the key drivers. There are a lot of distractions in life, especially in this era, and maintaining focus is a key trait of successful executives. As a mother and wife, finding passion in the simple things brings balance to one’s day.
