![]() The move comes as the Orange County Partnership Regional Information Organization prepares for this summer's launch of the system in emergency centers throughout the region. OCPRHIO is collaborating with CalRHIO to implement the program. Through the initiative, CalRHIO will provide secure patient facts, such as medical history, lab results and clinical data from claims, to emergency departments for UnitedHealthcare and PacifiCare of California commercial HMO health plan users. The data exchange will modernize health care and provide better safety, coordination and quality of service, according to UnitedHealthcare Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer Sam Ho. “Immediate access to critical medical information when and where physicians need it will better enable them to make the right health care decisions at the point of care. We believe CalRHIO has the right technology and business model to be successful in the long term,” continues Ho.
