Newport Beach-based pancake manufacturer Daddy Cakes has partnered with Paul Frank Industries, headquartered in Costa Mesa, on a new venture aimed at boosting both businesses.

The two are co-branding a new line of pancake mix, Boomerang Banana, which will be launched March 1.

Paul Frank has co-branded with a number of companies, including Santa Ana-based Wahoo's Fish Taco, Mattel and Lego.

And the new partnership is a big move for Daddy Cakes, which has experienced substantial growth in the past year – the brand was sold only on the firm's Web site in January 2009, but it is now available in more than 100 stores, such as Whole Foods and Sprouts Farmers Markets, and on amazon.com.
