Connecticut’s Design Within Reach comes to Orange County
The modern design company opens its first and largest O.C. studio in Costa Mesa

Design Within Reach, a Conn.-based modern interior design company, has opened a new studio at South Coast Collection in Costa Mesa.
Design Within Reach provides modern furniture and accessories, and the Costa Mesa location – which is its largest – will offer an expanded collection of classic furniture by Carl Hansen, Cassina, Emeco, and more, as well as decorative pieces by emerging designers. Customers may also ask professional design associates for help in customizing their own furniture.
“Opening our newest and largest studio in Costa Mesa’s SouthCoast Collection just felt right,” said John Edelman, president and CEO of Design Within Reach. “[T]he roots of modern design in the United States stem from Southern California, and we are proud to continue the story by bringing the best in authentic modern design to Orange County.”
The 20,400-square-foot studio will serve not only as a retail space, but will host regular events for designers and trade professionals, including book signings and classes.
