![]() The Digital Media Center, which was made possible by a $1.6 million grant from the Department of Commerce, is a Rancho Santiago Community College District program that provides office space and other business-development resources to entrepreneurial upstarts in the fields of digital media arts, TV and video. The center's new initiative allows it to serve as a business incubator for companies that are in the process of launching, in addition to newly launched firms. “Our goal is to have a pipeline to help companies at an earlier stage,” said Digital Media Center Director Gustavo Chamorro. “This program is perfect for someone who wants to start a new venture while still remaining employed.” Among the services provided: up to 10 hours of shared office space and conference rooms during business hours; business and legal counseling; marketing; IT; access to workshops and networking events; professional business address and mailbox; office equipment, including copier and fax; and wired and wireless Internet connection at the DMC. Membership is $100 per month or $500 for six months.
