• True Food Kitchen comes to Fashion Island True
Food Kitchen, a Phoenix-based restaurant concept that focuses on
healthful dining, will open its first California restaurant this summer
at Fashion Island.
The eatery was developed by Fox
Restaurant Concepts – a privately held firm that owns a number of
boutique stores throughout Arizona, Kansas, Texas and Colorado – and
wellness author Dr. Andrew Weil.
“True Food is unlike any
restaurant in the nation. Our philosophy celebrates high-quality
locally sourced ingredients to create a unique menu that tastes great
while nourishing mind, body and spirit,” says company President and CEO
Sam Fox. “We believe Fashion Island – with its discerning and
health-conscious customers – is the perfect place for us to expand.”
The
eatery will occupy the former home of Blue Coral, a 9,600-square-foot
space next to Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine and Fleming’s Prime
Steakhouse. It will be outfitted with environmentally friendly
features, including low-voltage LED lighting and low VOC paint.
The
menu, prepared by Executive Chef Michael Stebner, will boast a
selection of Mediterranean-, Asian- and California-inspired dishes.
Among them: Wild Smoked Salmon with Shaved Radishes and Curry Chicken
with Rice Noodles. True Foods also will carry wines from vintners who
employ organic or sustainable farming practices.
“We believe
True Food Kitchen – already a success at Biltmore Fashion Park in
Phoenix – will be a popular dining destination in Newport Beach,” says
Keith Eyrich, president of The Irvine Co. Retail Properties.
