First, the Grilled Filet Mignon Potstickers, featured on AnQi’s
Signature Collection menu: They were sweet and delicate, and they came
drizzled with a light sesame soy dressing – nothing overpowering, just
enough to give the taste buds a little surprise.
We
followed that up with the Sweet Mango-Chili Glazed Shrimp and the Salt
and Pepper Calamari. The shrimp was sautéed with that fruity-zingy
glaze. The calamari was lightly breaded and fried, but it wasn’t
greasy. I loved it, and I don’t even really like calamari.
Next
came the Seared Yellow Tataki. This dish I absolutely adore – slices of
yellowfin tuna cooked ever so slightly around the edges and served with
a Yuzu-Truffle Vinaigrette. (How’s that for creative?) Bits of
jalapeño, sliced razor-thin, topped the fish. An orchestra of flavors
played on my tongue.
To finish it off, we split the Roasted Half Maine Lobster – tender, moist, sweet – served with An Famous Garlic Noodles.
What
struck me most about the food was the combinations and complexity of
flavors – sweet and spicy, savory and salty, garlic and more garlic.
And yes, those noodles are to die for. Words cannot do them justice.
You just have to go there.
