The night I dined at Charlie Palmer, a customer celebrated his daughter’s birthday at the next table. My wife, Kimi, and I watched as Head Chef Ahmed Santana delivered three plates of meatloaf to the party of eight. Meatloaf isn’t on the menu.
“Can we order that?” Kimi whispered.
Somebody on the staff must’ve overheard her. A few minutes later, Santana arrived at our table with a delicious sample. “It’s always fun for a chef to prepare something a little different,” he explained.
We think meatloaf should definitely be on the menu.
Located at Bloomingdale’s in South Coast Plaza, Charlie Palmer offers five-star cuisine. Its staff is as polished as the diamonds at nearby Tiffany & Co.
