Garden Grove-based Earth Friendly Products has earned the Governor’s Environmental and Economic Leadership Award for Excellence in Sustainable Business Measures. The company was selected for the distinction based on its efforts to conserve California’s resources, protect the environment, improve the state’s economy and other measures aimed at achieving emissions and zero waste.
Earth Friendly develops and produces environmentally conscious cleaning supplies for household and commercial use.
“We could not be more honored or more humbled by winning the GEELA,” said Earth Friendly Products Vice President Kelly Vlahakis-Hanks. “Our company strives to be 100 percent sustainable not for glory, but to conserve the environment for future generations. Every action that we take – from eliminating salt in our products to installing solar panels on our facilities’ roofs to working towards becoming a zero-waste facility by January – is for the preservation of the earth. To us, receiving this award speaks to our accomplishments, as well as the growing demand from California and the entire nation for every company to be sustainable and eco-friendly.”
The company operates five facilities throughout the U.S., each working to decrease carbon emissions through shorter shipping distances and educating consumers on the advantages of green cleaning.
