![]() It’s part – the most poignant point – of his response to a question posed by our Cover Story writer, Jerry Hicks, regarding how much starting capital he needed to launch his Irvine-based IT software, services and consulting business. In my two years as editor of OC METRO, I’ve been inspired often by the entrepreneurial gumption demonstrated by the countless business owners we’ve profiled. Every story is unique. Take that of Christine Saunders, for example. We featured her in a June 2008 Cover Story, “A land of brilliance.” She launched her eco-friendly floral company, The Spiraled Stem, out of the garage of her Anaheim Hills home with the last $150 from her unemployment check. That was six years ago, and since then, her company has earned an Anaheim Green Business of the Year award, and Saunders has gained recognition as an expert in environmentally friendly floral design. She’s even partnered with another entrepreneur and jumped onto the do-it-yourself bandwagon with the launch of a second business, FlowerDIYvas. NEXT PAGE >>> |
