Then 9/11 changed the world.
Sherman-Louis recalls the phone call that changed their business model. “We were calling a client right after 9/11,” she says.
“They said, ‘We don’t need IT folks; we need (security) cleared Arabic linguists.’ Unfortunately, 9/11 made ATS what we are today.” Seven years later, the company employs some 269 full-time, security-cleared linguists based around the globe.
