A number of local business executives, community leaders and industry professionals have signed on to the Anaheim International Film Festival Advisory Board. Among them: OC METRO Publisher and Churm Media CEO Steve Churm; Anaheim/O.C. Visitor & Convention Bureau President Charles Ahlers; and producer and director Charles Burnett.

The inaugural festival, which is slated to run Oct. 13-17 at The Shops at Anaheim GardenWalk, will offer screenings, master classes and workshops, and galas. The event is expected to draw up to 10,000 attendees and bring about $1 million to the city.

The board members will provide support and resources for the event, among other efforts.

“I applaud the Anaheim International Film Festival organizers for bringing positive economic development, cultural arts and education to Anaheim and Orange County,” says Ahlers. He says the festival ensures that Anaheim and the larger region will remain a destination for tourism and business.
