Guard A Heart named Fashion Destination’s charity of choice
The heart disease awareness organization was the official beneficiary of the ‘Sail in Style’ event

The Irvine-based Guard a Heart foundation, an organization that raises awareness about prevention of heart disease, was honored as Fashion Destination’s charity of choice at their annual “Sail in Style” event on Sept. 29.
The event, held aboard Pacific Avalon’s Majestic Yacht, featured fashion and food with live entertainment and celebrity appearances. Actress and WWE professional wrestler Maria Menounos hosted the event, while Gretchen Rossi, of the Real Housewives of Orange County, showcased her collection of handbags. A portion of the evening’s proceeds went to the Guard a Heart foundation, which has helped hundreds know their heart health.
Marisa Kenson, founder of Fashion Destination, expressed her satisfaction at supporting Guard a Heart. “Heart disease is the leading cause of death and it is preventable about 80 percent of the time,” Kenson said. “We are proud to support organizations like Guard a Heart which continue to combat the devastating impact of heart disease through education and awareness.”
