More than Just Family Law

These scenarios and others are everyday occurrences for Tom Stabile and John Cowhig, partners at the four-lawyer boutique firm of Stabile & Cowhig. Known as the place to go for resolving messy divorces, protecting children and assets, and securing support, the partners have a combined 56 years of experience. As a result, their clients see a marked difference in how their cases are handled compared to many other family law attorneys.
“In order to practice family law effectively and protect your clients, whether for settlement or trial, you have to know laws involving taxes, corporations, property and bankruptcy, to name a few,” Stabile said. “Being a family law attorney doesn’t mean just filing for divorce. It’s much more than that. Some lawyers dabble in family law but take on other cases as well. Family law is all we do.”

We are the only family law firm of which I know that actually has an answering service, so whenever clients call they get a live person instead of a recording saying, ‘The office is closed.’ There are numerous times I’ve received calls on the weekend or late at night with an emergency. Clients appreciate that we make ourselves accessible even after the office closes.”
