Ron Cordova
Attorney at Law
A former California state legislator and Orange County deputy district attorney, Ron Cordova has pursued a career that most other lawyers only dream of. He has represented clients in 29 states and several foreign countries and has defended high-profile clients in Orange County and beyond.
Cordova, who has been practicing law for 37 years, 31 of them in private practice, takes pride in not delegating his cases to others. He devotes his personal attention to each case, regardless of the client’s financial circumstances. He is accessible and answers his clients’ questions in basic English, not legal jargon.
“I don’t speak legalese to my clients,” Cordova explains. “I discuss with my client what is happening in his/her case and why it’s happening.”
Having tried more than 150 cases, Cordova believes his greatest victories have come in clearing the name of those who have been wrongfully accused of a crime.
“The irony in such cases is, of course, that I have not obtained anything more than what my client was entitled to – a not guilty verdict.”
Cordova, who is married and has two adult daughters, attended Dartmouth College, where he received his degree in international relations. After graduate studies at Trinity College, Dublin and the University of Stockholm, he received his law degree from USC.
Reflecting the respect of other attorneys, Cordova has been placed on the list of Southern California Super Lawyers for four years consecutively since 2007. He has also been named by OC Metro Magazine as one of Orange County’s top five criminal defense lawyers in 2009 and 2010. In addition to his years of trial practice and public service, Cordova has taught comparative criminal law in Eastern European nations and has recently been invited to teach for the fifth time in Hungary.
Cordova continues to provide quality, personalized legal representation to clients who find themselves in difficult circumstances.
