John Tehranian
One LLP
An experienced intellectual property and entertainment litigator, John Tehranian represents Hollywood, publishing, new media and technology clients and has handled numerous high-profile lawsuits, from infringement claims involving Winston Churchill’s speeches and an ownership conflict over Jimi Hendrix’s last recordings to fair use rights over Britney Spears photographs and remake rights to a Jules Verne classic. A graduate of Harvard University and Yale Law School, Tehranian began his legal career at O’Melveny & Myers LLP and later served as a tenured Professor of Law at the University of Utah. He is a founding partner of One LLP, a litigation firm with offices in Newport Beach and Santa Monica, and he is the author of dozens of articles and two books, Infringement Nation (Oxford University Press, forthcoming 2010) and Whitewashed (New York University Press, 2009). He is also the recipient of the Wiley W. Manuel Award for Pro Bono Legal Services from the Board of Governors of the State Bar of California.
