Don D. Sessions

Employment Law

Don D. Sessions is a founding partner of Sessions & Kimball, LLP, one of the largest firms in the country dedicated exclusively to representing employee rights. His Mission Viejo firm has recovered more than $100 million for its clients in a range of employment law cases, including wages and overtime, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, discrimination and retaliation cases.

One of the most widely quoted attorneys in the media, Mr. Sessions is considered one of California’s leading authorities on employment law issues. He has authored several books, including “Employee Rights in California” and law school textbooks about wrongful termination and sexual harassment laws. He has written ongoing employment law columns for the Los Angeles Times and Orange County Register, and written or edited more than 1,000 articles on employment law issues for publications, including Time, Newsweek and Forbes. He also is a frequent commentator on television and radio, including National Public Radio.

Mr. Sessions earned his law degree from Loyola University College of Law in 1976. He received the highest rating possible by the national attorney rating services Martindale-Hubble and Avvo. He is repeatedly included in Best Lawyers in America.

He has served on the Board of Directors of the Orange County Bar Association and as chairman of its Labor and Employment Law Section. He has been an adjunct professor at Western State University College of Law, teaching four employment law subjects as well as negotiation.

Mr. Sessions’ firm is unique in that it exclusively represents employees, who are often at great disadvantage to employers who wield great power.

“We look at ourselves as crusaders for our clients,” says Mr. Sessions. “Our heart goes out to employees who are so often touched by abuses. Experts say that after death and divorce, losing a job can cause the most stress to people. We really enjoy helping common people turn trauma into triumph.”
