![]() The Harrods department store, located in the Knightsbridge area of London, is one of the city’s top tourism draws, with an international reputation for luxury retail. The Karma will be featured in the window display during the store’s Winter Sale, until Feb. 4. “Harrods is one of the most prestigious retail sites in the world, which is perfect for our car,” said Henrik Fisker, co-founder and CEO of Fisker Automotive. “The landmark store attracts hundreds of thousands of customers from all over the world during January, and we look forward to introducing them to Fisker Automotive.” The Karma, designed to be the first luxury performance hybrid, combines high-end styling with the high efficiency and low emissions of a state-of-the-art electric drive. The vehicle can achieve 0-60 mph in 6.2 seconds and was given 112 mpg equivalency and 51g/km CO2 emissions ratings by the TÜV, a German environmental safety monitoring agency. “We are delighted to have partnered with Fisker Automotive to become the first UK retailer to exhibit the Fisker Karma,” said Guy Cheston, Harrods' media sales director. “This exciting new luxury electric vehicle will take pride of place in our iconic windows and is certain to attract a great deal of interest from our customers.” Shoppers at Harrods can take a tour of the Karma, virtually configure a model to their own specifications, and be put in contact with a local dealership to arrange a test drive. The 2012 Fisker Karma, priced at $102,000, is already available for sale in the U.S. and the company is expanding its international distribution in the coming weeks.
