Foothill Ranch-based Wet Seal releases new fashion iPhone application

iRunway allows users to create and share thousands of unique outfits and looks.

Teen fashion and accessory retailer Wet Seal, headquartered in Foothill Ranch, is launching a new fashion and shopping app for the iPhone. The program, iRunway, is available as a free download from the iTunes Application Store or from the Wet Seal Web site.

The move is an effort by the company to increase interest – and sales – in its products.

iRunway’s many features include a browse option for viewing outfits created and shared by Wet Seal’s fashion community and the option to purchase directly from the app. Outfits are created and shared using the networking tool at wetseal.com. There are also store locator, maps and e-mail offerings included in the app.

Among the app’s other features – and perhaps the most innovative – is the Input Style tool. Primarily for use when shopping in a Wet Seal store, customers can type in the style number from an item’s price tag, and the app will automatically match thousands of outfit choices to that product.
