The development received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification in 2001 for its energy efficiency, living roof – which is designed for cooling and ease of maintenance – and sustainable landscape.
Irish says the property is also desirable because of its location near the 5 and 405 freeways, as well as the environment the Irvine Co. has developed.
"We have a combination of factors that is exceedingly rare today. We feel fortunate that we were selected as the buyer,” finishes Irish.
The complex was marketed for sale by CB Richard Ellis' Michael Kane and Dean Chandler, along with Jeff Morgan, Karen Scholte and Paul Jones of the firm's Newport Beach office. Kevin Shannon, Ken White and Todd Tydlaska of CB Richard Ellis' South Bay office also played a part in the listing of the property.
