Irvine-based Getac Inc., a leading manufacturer of rugged-use mobile computers, has been selected as a supplier for the U.S. Air Force’s field-based operations. Getac’s B300 rugged notebook and V100 rugged convertible computers will be produced under license by Virginia-based NCS.

Both computer models feature Intel Core i7 Processors with Turbo Boost Technology, which considerably improves the overall performance of the machines over the previous models.

The computers were selected by the Air Force Information Technology Commodity Council, which evaluates vendors’ submissions for suitability, performance and resilience in the tough environments that personnel will face.

"We are proud to have the U.S Air Force again recognize Getac's products," said Getac President Jim Rimay. "Our continued relationship with the department reinforces our mutual commitment to the highest standards in technology."
