Lake Forest-based Getac Inc., which develops rugged computers that are capable of handling bumps, drops and spills, is introducing the 9213 model, the company’s most compact and lightweight business-rugged notebook.

The 13.3-inch widescreen Getac 9213 has a full-magnesium alloy chassis and case with a shock-mounted HDD and LCD for ultra shock protection. The computer features a spill-resistant keyboard, touchpad and surrounding surface for safety.

The notebook is powered by the 45nm Intel Core 2 Duo Penryn Processor and provides up to eight hours of battery life. It also has a removable optical drive that allows for an additional battery, giving it power for up to 12 hours. It has 3 GB of memory and 160 GB of storage.
