Goodwill of O.C. names new leadership

Frank Talarico assumes the post of president and CEO of the nonprofit

by Caitlin AdamsPublished: February 07, 2012 09:45 AM

Goodwill of Orange County, one of the largest nonprofit organizations in Southern California, has named Frank Talarico Jr. as its new president and CEO. The organization’s Board of Directors has selected Talarico to take up the position following the departure of Dan Rogers, who retired after 10 years at Goodwill’s helm.

Talarico joins Goodwill after leaving his most recent post as president and CEO of JSerra Catholic High School, a private school located in San Juan Capistrano. During his time with there, Talarico launched several new programs and key partnerships with respected and important organizations, including the Allied Association of Catholic Hospitals, Broadcom, CHOC and the Paul Merage School of Business.

Before his position at JSerra, Talarico held leadership roles in education and consulted in sports, government and municipal affairs. He previously served as vice president of institutional advancement for Servite High School in Anaheim. Prior to that, he helped develop the Southern California regional Foundation for the PGA of America. He has also served as a consultant for the NFL Players’ Association, the State of California Governor’s Office, the Dept. of Labor and Education, and the California Interscholastic Federation.

Talarico’s talent in creating key partnerships with the business community and his background in fundraising are key assets that led to his selection as Goodwill’s new CEO, according to the organization’s Board of Directors Chair, Cheryl Barrett. “Frank has gained the respect and trust of individuals and businesses in our community, and we believe this will help us advance our mission,” Barrett said.

Talarico graduated from UC Berkeley and holds a master’s degree in applied communications from Cal State Fullerton. OC METRO recognized him in 2010 as a 40 Under 40 honoree. Goodwill of Orange County has an 88-year history of helping the community through its programs and outreach.
