![]() The board approved the measure and a $93,000 budget and revenue increase – among other items – during its meeting last week. The adjustment allows the park to both receive and spend the money from the Live Nation project. Officials will now work with Live Nation, which produces, markets and sells concerts worldwide, to negotiate an agreement for the study. The need for the study stems from the fact that the winning competition design for the park included a performance area located in the northern section of the Cultural Terrace. But because of building intensity and zoning constraints, the Great Park Master Plan did not include an amphitheater. The board approved a level one feasibility study in June 2008, which offered a number of amphitheaters that could be developed in the park, but it also found that the concepts needed more analysis for their location, scale and operational components. The new study is expected to establish a plan for the program's requirements, an analysis of the site's needs and theater's function, and define the main features.
