Huntington Beach's Green Expo
Surf City points the way toward sustainable, eco-conscious living.

“It’s easy to be green in Huntington Beach.” That’s the motto for the city’s second annual Green Expo.
Victoria Alberty – an Expo committee member who runs the event’s Web site, plus the Huntington Beach Green Guide online and TheLocalHB.com – is spreading the green philosophy.
The Green Guide, in particular, is meant to offer tips on how to live eco-consciously. The site, says Alberty, “will assist people in their quest to become green and eco-friendly within their personal lives and in their businesses, and educate people that this is the way of the future.”
Sponsored in part by the Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce and the city’s Economic Development Department, the Green Expo will include more than 100 vendors from a variety of industries. Reps from Toyota of Huntington Beach, Boeing, Southern California Edison and Sharp Solar – as well as H.B. city officials who specialize in such topics as building and safety, water conservation and environmental awareness – will be on hand to meet with the 2,000-plus visitors expected to attend.
