A car wash with a conscience

Mobile service ProntoWash uses just 1 pint of water – versus the 100 gallons it usually takes – to clean an auto.

Been washing your car at home to conserve money? Chances are you’re not making any strides toward conserving water or helping the environment. Consider this: The average person uses about 100 gallons of water when washing a car at home. ProntoWash – an eco-friendly mobile service with stations throughout Orange County – uses only about a pint per car.

In other words, with the amount of water you use to wash your car at home, ProntoWash can clean about 480 autos.

“If we got 1 million O.C. cars to use ProntoWash once a month, that would be enough water for about 10,000 families,” says Jim Fitzpatrick, president of ProntoWash of Southern California.

And best of all, it’s convenient. The auto spa comes to you – whether you’re at the office, in a meeting or at lunch. The crew can provide a number of services, including waxing, detailing, interior and spot cleaning, even scratch removal. And there’s no waste runoff.

“We do not allow the contaminants and waste water to hit the ground,” Fitzpatrick says. “So we protect discharge into the storm drains and help keep our waters free of pollution.”

The franchise can be found in more than 23 countries and has stations at the Irvine Spectrum Center, the Mainplace Mall and the Orange County Marketplace. A new location is planned for John Wayne Airport.

Great company and concept. My car shines as after wax every time they wash it. I know they are also in Westside Pavilion Mall in LA.
