Keeping it clean
The Miocean Foundation aims to keep beaches and coastal waters free of pollution.

If you ask John Moody what his motivation was for founding Miocean, he’ll probably tell you it was a serious staph infection he contracted while teaching some local teens how to surf.
It caused him to take notice of the negative health effects of water pollution. He was inspired to organize an effort aimed at educating people about the importance of keeping our beaches and oceans clean. So Moody – whose day job is serving as the president of Busch Financial Services – teamed up with Centra Realty Corp. President Keith Ross, and the Miocean Foundation was born.
That was seven years ago. Since then, Moody and Ross have been joined by a crew of business executives who share their passion for the ocean.
