Southern California Gas Co. recently presented Habitat for Humanity of Orange County with three Award of Excellence plaques for the nonprofit's energy-efficient homes.
The awards recognize the organization's Anaheim and Fullerton developments, as well as the Habitat for Heroes and Foundations for Families project in San Juan Capistrano. The homes surpassed California's energy-efficiency standard by 15 percent.
“We are proud to provide energy-efficient homes for Habitat O.C. families who will save money for their homes and lives,” says Habitat's Senior Vice President Mark Korando.
Habitat for Humanity of Orange County is a nonprofit dedicated to ending substandard housing and building strong communities in the region. The Santa Ana-based organization has built 130 homes in Orange County since 1988.
