Hoag Hospital Irvine launches renovation plan, continued ...

In another effort to blend its sustainability and top-of-the-line medical offerings, the hospital will be outfitted in a theme that's well known to Orange County: the Mountains to Sea Trail. The 22-mile pathway travels through the 93,000-acre Irvine Ranch from Weir Canyon to Upper Newport Bay.

This theme is a "natural connection," according to Sanford Smith, senior vice president of real estate and facilities for Hoag.

"The new hospital represents an opportunity to link Hoag’s Newport Beach facility and the sea to Irvine and South County communities. It represents connectivity,” he says.

The hospital and emergency room will remain closed throughout the renovations. Emergency services are available at other local hospitals, including Hoag in Newport Beach, Saddleback, St. Joseph's, Western Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente Hospital Irvine.
