This specialty is particularly relevant today as baby boomers reach retirement age and economic woes prevent many seniors from being able to sell their homes. The option of “aging in place” is more accessible and popular than ever.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics recently forecast that the personal and home care aides job category to be the second fastest growing job group in the nation over the next decade. In California, the number of personal and home care aides is projected to increase 27 percent by 2016.
