A Vue of the future

Get high-tech peace of mind at a low cost.

by larry urishPublished: February 01, 2012

You’d never enjoy your family vacation if you were constantly worried about your business. What’s happening while you’re away?

Thanks to the VueZone Personal Video Network, you can have peace of mind anywhere in the world by seeing what’s going on in your office, showroom, clinic or warehouse.

The VueZone system is composed of tiny wireless IP video cameras that can be positioned, using the simple “peel-and-stick” method, anywhere in a room. Once connected to an internal transmitter (a “gateway”) that plugs into your Ethernet, any environment can be viewed from your smartphone, computer or laptop. Simply download the VueZone mobile app at vuezone.com, and you’ll have a virtual “eye in the sky” to keep tabs on your hard-earned investment; no additional software is necessary.

VueZone offers three service plans: the Basic plan supports two remote camera for live remote viewing via your computer only, as well as snapshot email alerts when motion is detected. With VueZone’s Premier plan, at $49.95 per year (many folks spend well over 10 times that annually at Starbucks), you’ll have mobile access to the images and can use up to five cameras. In addition, you’ll receive video email alerts with hi-rez motion detection snapshots, and digital zoom and pan capabilities. The system can record both motion-detection and time-lapse videos to save online (up to 250 MB of storage, enough for short clips) and even schedule recordings by date and time.

Drop another additional $30 (or about eight Iced Cinnamon Dolce Lattes) a year, and you’ll upgrade to as many as 15 cameras in your network, three separate gateways and an extra 250 MB of video storage.

Your VueZone system can be used at home to monitor your kids, housekeepers and nannies, service technicians or pets – among other applications. $199
