As a child, Macavinta dealt with the standard teen issues of self-doubt, negative body image, bullying, as well as personal family struggles of substance abuse, incarceration, violence, and more. Macavinta now reaches out to millions of children, families, and communities through programs like The Respect Rally and through her award-winning, best-selling novel, Respect. The Sonenshines own Santa Ana based Far West Restaurant Group LLC, which operates 19 Wingstop restaurants in Los Angeles and Orange County.
