Irvine-based Human Options has named Resources Global Professionals Chief Legal Officer Kate Duchene its new chairwoman, and appointed three other local professionals to its board of directors.
Duchene, who was honored among OC METRO’s Hot 25 list last year, has been a member of the nonprofit’s board since 2001 and is a member of the North Tustin chapter of the National Charity League.
She joined Global Resources more than a decade ago and has since guided the accountant- and lawyer-outsourcing firm through six international acquisitions and five U.S. ones. She oversees 52 offices in the U.S. and 30 around the globe.
Joining her on the Human Options board: Squar Milner Chief Financial and Administrative Officer Scharrell Jackson, also a 2010 Hot 25 honoree; Fisher & Phillips Managing Partner James McDonald; who served on the Irvine Chamber of Commerce board of directors for more than 13 years; and Om My Soul yoga studio Founder Kelly Paul, who has been a Human Options volunteer for more than three years.
Human Options was founded 30 years ago with the goal of ending the cycle of domestic violence. Its prevention, education and emergency intervention programs served more than 20,000 people last year.
