Hyundai Motor America and its dealers announced Thursday that CHOC Children’s has been selected for the sixth consecutive year to receive a donation of $75,000 from the company’s Hyundai Hope on Wheels fundraising effort.
The 2009 Hope on Wheels Tour is currently traveling around the country donating more than $1.3 million to childhood cancer research institutions. Representatives will be making a special stop at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Orange County Auto Show to present the check to CHOC at a ceremonial event.
Dr. Van Thu Huynh, pediatric hematology-oncology fellow at CHOC, has been named a 2009 Hyundai Scholar, and will use the funds to support her research into psychological adjustment of pediatric and adolescent cancer patients, and how this influences adherence to and outcomes of cancer treatment.
