Image Options is going green

The Foothill Ranch-based graphics company is now applying a new environmentally friendly printing method.

Image Options, a large-format retail and event installation graphics company headquartered in Foothill Ranch, has recently introduced a green printing method in an effort to offer products with minimal impact on the environment. The new method includes the installation of the EFI VUTEk GS3250LX UV-curing digital inkjet printer to be used on MicroGREEN Polymers’ InCycle PET sheets.

The LED-based inkjet printer is designed to use less energy and consumables, contains no volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and produces less waste. It is made to significantly lower the total cost of ownership over the printer’s lifetime.

InCycle is a cutting-edge new lightweight and printable sheet made from recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET), a thermoplastic polymer resin. The cost-effective sheets are comprised of up to 50 percent recycled content. In addition to InCycle sheets being made from recycled content, it is 100 percent recyclable itself.

“We have an obligation to lead the way in providing our customers with the most environmentally friendly options for their print and graphic needs – from the equipment we use to the substrates we offer,” said Tim Bennett, CEO of Image Options. “The high-quality results we have seen with the GS3250LX press on InCycle sheets are a great match for a variety of signage and [point of purchase] applications.”
