Irvine-based telecommunications company Boost Mobile is a key sponsor of IndyCar racing star Danica Patrick for the remainder of the 2009 season. Because of this Patrick came to celebrate with the nearly 500 employees at the company’s semi-annual retreat at the Hilton Waterfront Resort in Huntington Beach on Thursday, August 20.Patrick participated in team-building activities with the employees, in addition to posing for pictures and showing off her lucky No. 7 car at a pit stop on her way to her next race, in Sonoma. Boost Mobile, the premier no-contract, no credit wireless carrier, is a division of Sprint Corp. It partnered with Motorola in May to become title sponsors of Danica Patrick’s lucky No. 7 car. Patrick drives a Boost Mobile/Motorola IndyCar with orange accents. Patrick is currently in the top 10 of 2009 IRL standings and was recently named one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People. She rose to prominence in 2005 when she was the first woman to lead the Indianapolis 500. Last year, Patrick became the first female winner in IndyCar Series history, winning the Japan Indy 300. She has become a global celebrity, bringing style an notoriety to the Indy car racing circuit.
