The transaction will expand the Santa Ana-based company to strengthen its UK market position.

Santa Ana-based Ingram Micro Inc., the world's largest distributor of technology products and supply chain services, announced Tuesday that it signed a definitive agreement to acquire certain assets of Computacenter Distribution (CCD), one of the leading wholesalers of servers and storage-related products in the United Kingdom.

The transaction, which is subject to customary closing conditions, is expected to be completed in early November. Terms were not disclosed.

CCD's approximately 40 employees will join the U.K. operations of Ingram Micro. Jon Bunyard, CCD’s general mangager, will report to Matt Sanderson, managing director of Ingram Micro U.K.

Greg Spierkel, Ingram Micro's CEO, said the acquisition of CCD advances the company's enterprise strategy and augments its capabilities in infrastructure solutions and data-center development.
