Santa Ana's Ingram Micro teams with NextGen Healthcare

Deal will facilitate the adoption of electronic medical records in the industry.

Santa Ana-based technology distributor Ingram Micro is teaming up with NextGen Healthcare Information Systems to facilitate the adoption of electronic medical records in the industry.

As an electronic record provider and revenue manager for hospitals, health systems and physician practices, NextGen Healthcare, a subsidiary of Irvine's Quality Systems, will help Ingram Micro recruit, train and support new partners focused on the newly adopted technology solutions.

Ingram Micro will provide flexible financing and leasing options to help its customers acquire the NextGen Healthcare platforms, such as its Community Health Solution, which allows medical professionals to exchange patient data over a secure connection.

Clients, such as physicians, should also be able to receive a slice of funding from the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act set aside for health care information technology.
