The project is part of the first phase of a $65.5 million Western Sector Development Plan. Nearly $6 million of the first-phase funds have been set aside for recycled water and electrical power development and construction, as approved by the City Council in October last year. Runway demolition, hangar rehabilitation, art and culture exhibition space, citrus trees, parking, community gardens, soccer fields and a multi-purpose pavilion are all part of the first-phase plan.
