ALG recently named the 2010 MAZDA3 Best Mid-Compact Car for value retention on Wednesday, in addition to ranking the Mazda brand third in predicted resale value – an increase from its position as sixth on the list in 2009. Mazda North American Operations is headquartered in Irvine.

The brand also took home honors for the MAZDA6 sport sedan and the Mazda CX-9 crossover SUV.

ALG ranks vehicles by predicting which will retain the highest percentage value of its original purchase price after a three-year period. Company General Manager James Clark says this remains the best metric for evaluating the overall strength of an automotive brand. This value recognition is said to give consumers peace of mind when purchasing a new vehicle.
