Doria Apartment Homes, a 60-apartment community in Irvine, recently celebrated its grand opening. Doria is the first rental property developed by the Jamboree Housing Corporation in association with the Irvine Community Land Trust (ICLT).
Not only does the complex represent Jamboree and the ICLT’s first venture together, but it also includes ten homes for residents with special needs. Jamboree has pledged to reserve approximately 10 percent of the homes at each new project for people with special needs.
The Doria Apartment Homes community is the first step in the ICLT’s commitment to creating approximately 5,000 units of affordable housing in the next 15 years. The ICLT is already in Phase II at Doria, planning the addition of 74 more apartments.
“This project moves forward our long-term commitment to provide a full spectrum of housing,” says Sukhee Kang, Mayor of Irvine. “A mix of affordability in our housing is critical to the long-term success of our economy and our community.”
The Doria Apartments feature garden-style buildings, courtyards, a community garden, a community center and swimming pool, as well as ENERGY STAR appliances in each apartment, which highlights Jamboree’s devotion to sustainability.
The new apartments are located at 1000 Crested Bird in Irvine.
